Dear Live Oak Families,
Welcome to the start of an exciting new year at Live Oak Elementary school. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing your children with me. I cherish the opportunity to work with you and your child.
I would like to tell you a bit about myself. I am happy to say I am starting my 26th year in education and my 8h with Round Rock I.S.D. My previous 18 years were spent up the road with Killeen I.S.D. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1990 with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies, Teacher of Young Children. I completed my Master of Education Degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1998. I am all but dissertation in my pursuit of my Ed.D. from Walden University.
I have been married 20 years and have 2 children. My husband, Salvador, is a tennis teaching professional and works for Walmart. I have a daughter, Magdalena who is 18 and a son, Ayrton who is 13. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy crosstiching, scrapbooking, stamping, tennis, golf and cooking.
Teaching is a huge responsibility and I am committed to it! I have a mission that goes along with this responsibility. My mission is to help all students to gain the tools they will need to become productive, accepting, respectful and responsible citizens of the future. I feel my job is not only to guide students through the TEKS, as stated by Texas law; but also, to teach life skills. Your child will receive my respect and compassion and we will, with you and your child’s help reach the goals we set.
I look forward to a super year full of wonderful new learning experiences for all of us! Your child is the key to our bright future. Your help and caring will give us the support we need to carry us through to a fruitful year!
